Summer of Seeing / Polaroid Project

In the summer of 2010 just out of graduate school with a masters in graphic design I was attempting to reconcile my designerliness of the past with who I was going forward. I used to always wrestle with what I thought was two conflicting desires; the desire to appreciate the world and the desire to create change. These two passions manifested themselves in myself as a photographer and myself as a designer. But then I wondered, why can't design be as much about seeing and thinking as it is about making? It always has been for me.

So I set out with my instant camera in hand to capture what I saw; the world as it was around me, beautiful, imperfect, over exposed and often times poorly framed but always encountered with curiosity, wonder and appreciation.
