US Virgin Islands Sailing Adventure — Destination Travel Photography — St. John USVI

5 days
4 nights
3 of my very dearest lifelong friends
2 man crew
1 dream sailing adventure

Last week this time we were just off the plane in St. Thomas and stepping onto our floating home (a 50ft catamaran named Purple Pelican) for the long weekend dream girls trip.

Over the course of the next few days we…
Sailed between gorgeous hidden bays and coves
Swam with sea turtles
Snorkeled through pristine reefs.
Floated on our backs in the most spectacular turquoise waters… in the rain
Hiked to the top of mountain at sunrise for a fantastic view.
Spent a day bobbing in an infinity pool at a private island beach club.
Ate waaaaay too much delicious food.
Woke up with the sun daily (totally out of the norm for me) for those sunrise views and good coffee.
Surprisingly didn’t fall off the boat. Not once.
Used up nearly an entire bottle of sunscreen and after sun lotion.
Wore zero makeup.
Brushed my hair maybe twice.
Slept with the windows open in the Caribbean breeze (for one night. We convinced them to turn on the AC for the other three.)
Laughed until we cried a million times.
Made lifetime memories with three of my dearest lifelong friends.

It wasn’t perfect (though close) and we certainly have ideas for things we’d do different next time around. But as far as perfect goes, the company certainly was and the memories too. I wouldn’t change a thing. I love my friends dearly and am forever grateful to be taking these dream adventures together. And a big thanks to my family for sending momma off for a few days and holding down the fort. Love you all! 🤍
