Exactly one month ago just over a week past our due date at 12:02am on January 8, 2021 our world’s changed forever. Norah Catherine Fox enter our lives (via C-section after my water breaking in the wee hours of the morning followed by 43 hours of labor… but that’s a whole story in itself for another time). I was so excited to see her for the first time, this little “stranger” as I thought she would seem, to study her features and get to know her over time. And then I laid eyes on her, just past midnight when they placed her in her daddy’s arms and he tilted her down to meet me for that first look.
I knew her.
Fully and completely.
She felt so familiar to me. Like I’d known her all my life. She looked at us in wonder, wide eyed and captivated.
Like she knew us too.
Over our three years of trying to conceive I prayed and trusted the Lord’s perfect plan knowing that He wasn’t just working on giving us a child to place in our arms and call our own but a human, a person, a soul in which he had a specific plan for, to love and live and ultimately (Lord willing) know Him and bring Him glory. As hard as it was, we were willing to wait.
He had Norah in mind.
And we had her in our hearts.
So here she is, our Norah Cate, our Little Love, our Baby Girl (and all the other sweet names we’ve given her over the past month). Her name means “light” and oh has she brought so much of that into our lives. She’s bright eyed and curious, mommy’s mini me and already a daddy’s girl. She coos, grunts and squeaks and we are fairly certain has given us a social smile from time to time (that wasn’t because of gas). She has robbed us of only a “few” hours of sleep (but who needed those anyways?) and is quickly making daddy into the diaper changing king. She’s of course totally advanced and the most beautiful baby EVER in her mommy and daddy’s eyes. And oh is she ever so worth the wait.

These photos are a collection of a sweet in home session we did with my dear friend and talented photographer Lisa Taylor Hall as well as a few captures of my own of my Little Love and our new world.
Our phones are of course filled to the brim with photos of our little doll baby. We want to remember every little phase (and cute outfit too). So here’s a peek into the daily Norah Cate over the past month. Thank you to everyone who showered us so sweetly with the cutest baby girl clothes! Currently we are fond of the comfy zippered footy PJs but are excited to get into more and more of all the adorable things filling her closet and drawers.
