Horseshoe Bend in Page, Arizona at golden hour is nothing short of magical. Add in a gorgeous bride and groom and 60 of their closest family and friends bathed in the warm desert light and you have something like a dream. Sheri + James said their joyful, tearful “I dos” earlier this month canyon side and I had the honor of being there to capture it all.
Here we are in the heart of a frigid winter (even for us Floridians at times) and I’m dreaming of warmer days. In reflecting on the last year I took some time to note things that had given me life or drained me in the past. (It’s an effort in aiding in decision making for this “decision fatigued” gal right here. And the idea is all thanks to Emily P. Freeman and her “The Next Right Thing” podcast!) Something that undeniable breathed life in to my work and inspiration was the process of shooting creatively with film. It's been a minute since I've posted a wedding day preview (and I still have plans to go back and share so many beautiful days with you in due time) but this past weekend's wedding was a little near and dear to my heart. My sweet cousin married this gorgeous girl in the most perfect, intimate backyard lakeside ceremony surrounded by their very nearest and dearest! It was an honor be there to celebrate and capture their love! Congrats you two! And welcome to the family, Tracee!

I carried my medium format film camera and a handful of film with me into my tour of Historic Harder Hall earlier this year and am in love with these treasures I captured of the gorgeous Pink Lady. I grew up across the lake from this beauty and marveled at her day in and day out for years. I was always especially curious about seeing the overgrown, arched promenade and garden off its ballroom. It. Did. Not. Disappoint. So magical and breathtaking. I cannot wait to see this place continue to come back to life!

I thought I’d been chasing light all these years—across oceans, along tree lined paths, in the garden, by the shore—but it turns out when I started to make a list of all my favorite things (which certainly includes moments and places filled with spectacular light) what I found I’ve really been searching for is a breath.
Moments that take your breath away and give it back in life for your soul.
A gorgeous vista.
A garden in bloom.
A smile to the eyes.
A gentle breeze.
A shimmering water view.
Crisp winter sunlight.
A lyrical poem.
Sabbath…
A place and a moment to breathe, standing in awe of our Maker and Breath Giver.

What a gorgeous weekend it was for a private island wedding celebration with Amy + Scott! These two, their evident love and their "meet cute" story on a Southwest flight is something made for movies for sure! And the sunny day celebration on Useppa Island with family and sweet friends was nothing short of magical. Congrats you two! It was such a blessing to be there to celebrate alongside you all!
